H-Lift Cable Socks with Open End CS-AB type
Cable pulling grips are designed to pull cables through conduits or ducts. They are made of high-strength steel wire and come in different sizes and styles. The grip is wrapped around the cable, and as tension is applied, the grip tightens around the cable, providing a secure grip. Cable pulling grips are especially useful for pulling heavy cables over long distances.
Before pushing onto the cable, the cable grip is pressed together so that the steel wire weave opens and the cable grip diameter increases. As soon as the pull is applied to the cable grip the flexible steel wire weave closes onto the cable sheaths holding the cable securely and reliably.
When choosing a cable pulling grip, it’s important to consider the diameter of the cable and weight of the cable. The grip you choose should be able to handle the weight and diameter of the cable you’re pulling. It’s also essential to use the correct grip for the type of cable you’re pulling to avoid damage to the cable.
Open ended cable grips are ideal for joining two cables to form a continuous loop.
Typical application: replacement of lift cables, where the old cable would be attached to the new one, and the cable then fed around with ease. Also used to temporarily splice cable and conductor where torsion forces are NOT an issue. Torsion should be released prior to splicing. Where torsion is present a swivel and two grips should be used.
