1. Choose the Right Beam Clamp for the Job

Load capacity – Determine the tensile and shear loads the clamp will need to handle. Never exceed the working load limit (WLL) specified by the manufacturer.
Beam compatibility – Ensure the clamp fits securely on the beam’s flange width, thickness and beam designation.
Line of loading – Many designs of clamp are intended for 'in line' use only - i.e. the line of force must be at right angles to the flange of the beam to which it is attached. Some designs of clamp can be used to an angle of 45° to the vertical or can be loaded at any angle. It is therefore important to ensure that for 'angled' applications a clamp of suitable design is selected.
