The 25mm Ratchet Tie-Down Lashing Strap is a versatile cargo restraint system compliant with the European standard EN 12195-2, available in both single-piece loop and two-piece configurations for securing a wide variety of loads.

Lashing Capacity: Rated for a Lashing Capacity (LC) of 400 daN or 500 daN, with a Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) of 800 kg or 1000 kg to ensure reliable tensioning.
Versatile End Fittings: Can be equipped with multiple terminal hardware options, including S-Hooks, Double J-Hooks, Claw Hooks, or Triangles to match different anchor points.
Standard Dimensions: Typically supplied as a two-piece assembly with a standard 5-meter length (0.4m fixed tail + 4.6m main strap) utilizing durable 25mm webbing.
Safety & Compliance: Manufactured to strictly adhere to BS EN 12195-2 safety standards; designed exclusively for load restraint and must never be used for lifting applications.

Safe Use of Ratchet Tie Down

Product Features

Certified Safety Unlike generic hardware store straps, our 25mm lashings are manufactured and tested to EN 12195-2, providing a certified Lashing Capacity (LC) of 400-500daN and a Break Strength (BS) of 800-1000kg.
Ideal for Light Cargo Perfectly sized for securing loads on roof racks, utility trailers, pickup trucks, and for motorcycle transport where heavy industrial straps are too bulky.
Endless or Hooked Available in 2-Part configuration (with S-Hooks or Double J Hooks) for anchor points, or 1-Part Endless configuration for bundling goods together without hooks.
High-Vis Webbing Made from durable, high-visibility polyester webbing that resists UV degradation, water absorption, and weather exposure.
Compact Ratchet Features a compact, easy-to-use ratchet buckle that provides tight tensioning without being bulky or heavy.
Surface Protection Optional rubberized S-Hooks or plastic-coated hooks are available to prevent scratching vehicle paintwork or motorcycle handlebars.

Safety Guidelines

Always

Inspect ratchet tie downs before every use.
Calculate the required lashing force based on the restraint method.
Select the correct capacity and quantity of straps.
Ensure lashing points on vehicle/load are of adequate strength.
Position the strap so the load is spread uniformly over the width.
Protect webbing from sharp edges and small radii.
Ensure straps are correctly tensioned.
Exercise care when releasing tension (loads may have shifted).

Never

Never use ratchet tie downs for lifting.
Never knot or tie the webbing.
Never overload the strap beyond its marked capacity.
Never use over sharp edges without protective sleeves.
Never expose to direct heat, flames, or chemicals without consultation.
Never use straps with cuts, damaged stitching, or deformed fittings.

Selection & Usage Guide

Selecting the Correct Tie Down

The relevant standard is BS EN 12195-2: 2001. Straps are available for general purpose or specific applications (e.g., car transport).

Calculation: Forces should be calculated per BS EN 12195-1: 2010.
Lashing Capacity (LC): Marked in daN (decaNewton). Note: 1 daN ≈ 1 kg.
Anchor Points: Ensure vehicle points are strong enough; use more straps if necessary to spread the load.

Using Ratchets Safely

Ensure the tensioner (ratchet handle) is free to align and not bent over an edge. The webbing must not be twisted. Terminal fittings must engage correctly. Checking tension after traveling a short distance is recommended.

In-service Inspection & Storage

Damage Causes: Tensioning across sharp edges, uneven loading, heat burns, and chemical exposure (alkalis damage polyester). Clean only with clear water and dry naturally.

Rejection Criteria:
Do not use if you find illegible markings, cut/chaffed webbing, broken stitching, heat/chemical damage, or deformed fittings.
Recommendation: Have straps inspected by a competent person at least every 6 months.

Storage: Store in a clean, dry area, free from contaminants and shaded from direct sunlight.
