Grade 100 Master Link MLF type

No.505021

The Grade 100 Master Link (MLF Type) is a high-strength oblong ring utilized as the upper terminal connection point for 1-leg and 2-leg chain, wire rope, or synthetic lifting slings.

  • Engineered Flat Section: Most sizes (10-MLF-13 to 10-MLF-36) feature a specially engineered flattened section to allow easy and secure connection with mechanical omega links.
  • Grade 100 Performance: Manufactured from quenched and tempered alloy steel, offering 25% greater lifting capacity than standard Grade 80 master links.
  • Standard Compliance: Designed strictly to EN 1677 standards, ensuring a 4:1 safety factor for demanding overhead lifting operations.
  • Rigorous Testing: Every link is proof-load tested to 2.5 times the Working Load Limit (WLL) and finished with a durable powder coating.

Grade 100 Alloy Steel Drop Forged +25% WLL Capacity Engineered Flats
G-100 Master Link MLF

*Drop forged construction for superior strength

Product Features

  • High-Strength Grade 100: Manufactured from premium Grade 100 Alloy Steel, providing a 25% higher Working Load Limit (WLL) compared to Grade 80 master links of the same dimensions. Ideal for heavy lifting where weight reduction is desired.
  • Drop Forged Construction: Features a solid, seamless drop-forged design. Unlike welded rings, this ensures uniform grain structure and superior resistance to fatigue and shock loading.
  • 1-Leg & 2-Leg Application: Designed as the primary top fitting for assembling Single-Leg and Double-Leg chain slings, as well as wire rope bridles.
  • Engineered Flats: The bottom section of the link is pressed flat to accommodate Connecting Links (Hammerlocks), ensuring a proper fit without overcrowding the hardware.
  • Safety Factor: Designed with a 4:1 Safety Factor for chain sling applications (5:1 for wire rope in some regions).
  • Testing: 100% Proof Loaded to 2.5 times the WLL.
Selection Guide: Master Link vs. Assembly
Product Configuration Application
Master Link (MLF)
(This Product)
Single Ring 1 or 2 Legs
Use for single leg slings or 2-leg bridles. Do NOT use for 3 or 4 legs (too crowded).
Master Link Assembly
(MAE / MLY Type)
Ring + 2 Sub-links 3 or 4 Legs
Required for 3-leg and 4-leg slings to ensure proper load distribution and articulation.

Grade 100 Sling Components are high-strength alloy steel lifting accessories designed for heavy-duty lifting applications. Compared with Grade 80, Grade 100 offers higher working load limits (WLL) at the same size, or the same WLL with a smaller, lighter component.

What Does "Grade 100" Mean?

  • High-Strength Alloy: Heat-treated, quenched, and tempered steel.
  • Increased Capacity: Typically 25% higher WLL than Grade 80.
  • Safety Factor: Minimum breaking force ≈ 4 × WLL.
  • Standards: EN 818-4 / EN 818-6, ASTM equivalents.

Common Sling Components

1. Master Links

Used to connect the sling to the crane hook.

  • Master Link (ML)
  • Master Link Assembly (2-leg, 3-leg, 4-leg)
  • Pear-shaped master links
2. Hooks

End fittings for attaching loads.

  • Clevis Self-Locking Hook (Common)
  • Eye Self-Locking Hook
  • Sling Hook with Latch
  • Foundry Hook
  • Shortening Hook (Eye/Clevis)
3. Connecting Links

Used to join chain or components.

  • Clevis Connector
  • Hammerlock / Coupling Link
  • Repair Link (Special use only)
4. Special Components

For complex rigging scenarios.

  • Swivels (Bearing/Non-bearing)
  • Chain Adjusters
  • Lifting Rings (Rotating)
  • Grab Hooks

Identification & Markings

Every Grade 100 component must be clearly marked with:

  • Grade: G100 or 10
  • Manufacturer's Mark
  • Size or WLL
  • Traceability Code (Batch / Heat Number)
⚠️ Safety & Compatibility Warning
  • NEVER mix Grade 100 with Grade 80 components in the same sling assembly.
  • ✅ Use only Grade 100 chain + Grade 100 fittings together.
  • Regularly inspect for wear (>10%), cracks, deformation, heat damage, or corrosion.
