G100 Ratchet Load Binder without Links or Hooks, RLWL type

No.411103

The Grade 100 Ratchet Load Binder without Links or Hooks (RLWL Type) is a heavy-duty chain tensioning device designed for high-strength load securement in trucking, flatbed trailers, and specialized cargo transport scenarios.

  • Customizable Configuration: Supplied strictly as a ratchet body without terminal hooks or links, allowing operators to attach specific end-fittings suited for their unique lashing requirements.
  • Safe Ratcheting Mechanism: The robust ratchet gear enables smooth, precise, and continuous tightening, eliminating the dangerous kickback associated with lever-style binders.
  • Grade 100 Lashing Capacity: Built for maximum restraint, available for chain sizes 8mm, 10mm, and 13mm, offering Lashing Capacities (LC) from 50 kN up to 134 kN.
  • Load Stability: Engineered specifically to apply immense tension to tie-down chains, ensuring heavy loads remain fully stabilized and completely immobilized during transit.

Grade 100 Ratchet Load Binder - Without Links or Hooks (Body Only)

Customizable High-Strength Ratchet Binder
Grade 100 Alloy Steel Body Only (Custom Ends) Safe Ratchet Mechanism High Lashing Capacity
grade 100 ratchet load binder without links or hooks

*Bare body allows attachment of custom fittings

Product Features

  • Customizable Configuration: Supplied as a bare ratchet body (without hooks, links, or pins). This allows the user to attach their own specific end fittings (such as shackles, eye hooks, or direct chain connections) to suit unique lashing requirements.
  • Grade 100 Strength: Manufactured from quenched and tempered Grade 100 alloy steel. Provides a significantly higher Lashing Capacity (LC) compared to standard G70 or G80 transport binders, ideal for securing heavy plant machinery and oversized loads.
  • Safe Ratchet Mechanism: Features a geared ratchet mechanism that allows for infinite tension adjustment. Unlike lever binders, it does not store kinetic energy in the handle, reducing the risk of "kickback" injuries (snap-back) to the operator.
  • Heavy Duty Threads: Precision-machined screw threads ensure smooth operation and high holding power under tension.
  • Durability: Finished with a durable powder coating for corrosion and abrasion resistance in harsh transport environments.
  • Standard: Meets or exceeds requirements for high-strength tie-down applications (e.g., EN 12195-3 where applicable for G100).

Safety Guidelines

Always

  • Inspect chain lashings before every use.
  • Calculate the lashing force required for the load.
  • Select the capacity and quantity of chains to meet the calculated force.
  • Ensure lashing points on the vehicle are strong enough.
  • Protect chains from small radii or sharp edges (or reduce capacity per instructions).
  • Ensure chains are correctly tensioned.
  • Exercise extreme care when releasing tension (loads may have shifted).

Never

  • Never use chain lashings for lifting.
  • Never knot, tie, or modify chain lashings.
  • Never overload the system.
  • Never use over sharp edges without protection.
  • Never expose chains to chemicals (especially acids) without consultation.
  • Never use chains with distorted links, damaged tensioners, or missing ID tags.

Selection & Usage Guide

Selecting the Correct System

The relevant standard is BS EN 12195-3: 2001. This requires:

  • Chain conforming to EN 818-2 (Grade 8).
  • Connecting components conforming to EN 1677.
  • Shortening components must have a safety latch/securing device.

Note: Lashing Capacity (LC) is expressed in daN (decaNewton). 1 daN ≈ 1 kg.

Using Chain Lashings Safely

Ensure the load binder (tensioner) is free to align and not bent over an edge. The chain must not be twisted. Hooks must engage correctly. Sharp Edges: If using over small radius edges without protection, the lashing capacity MUST be reduced according to manufacturer instructions.

In-service Inspection & Storage

Hydrogen Embrittlement: Never expose chains to acids. If contaminated, clean with clear water and dry naturally.

Rejection Criteria: Do not use if you find illegible markings, bent/elongated links, distorted hooks, or missing safety latches.

⚠️ Inspection Requirement: Chains wear over time. LEEA recommends inspection by a competent person at least every 6 months.

Storage: Store in a clean, dry area, hanging up if possible to prevent corrosion and contamination.
