Grade 100 Swivel Self Locking Hook with Bearing SSB Type
No.505009
The Grade 100 Swivel Self Locking Hook with Bearing (SSB Type) is a premium lifting hook combining a 360° swivel and automatic self-locking latch to prevent chain twist and accidental unhooking under load.
360° Swivel with Bearing: Ball-bearing swivel rotates freely under load, reducing torsion on the chain sling and improving handling safety.
Automatic Self-Locking: The latch locks automatically when loaded and can only be opened manually, ensuring the load stays securely seated in the hook.
Wide Size Range: Available from 6mm (WLL 1.4t) up to 26mm (WLL 26.5t) to suit light, medium, and heavy lifting applications.
Grade 100 Alloy Steel: Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel with a 4:1 safety factor for demanding overhead lifting operations.
Premium Grade 100 Alloy: Manufactured from high-strength Grade 100 alloy steel, offering a 25% higher Working Load Limit (WLL) than Grade 80 hooks of the same size. Allows for lighter, more compact rigging.
Ball Bearing Swivel: Equipped with a high-performance Ball Bearing mechanism. Unlike standard positioning hooks, the SSB type is designed to rotate smoothly while under full load, allowing for precise positioning and preventing dangerous torque buildup.
Wire Rope Protection: Essential for cranes using wire rope. The bearing allows the rope to naturally unwind any twist, preventing "cabling" or damage to the rope structure.
Automatic Self-Locking: The hook closes and locks automatically as soon as the load is lifted. It cannot open while under load, ensuring maximum safety for overhead lifting.
Standard: Compliant with ASTM A952 / EN 1677 standards.

Grade 100 SSB (This Product)
+25% WLL
Heavy Duty & Compact. Lifts more weight with a smaller hook. Best for high-capacity cranes where hook weight matters.
Grade 80 SSB (Standard)

Grade 100 Sling Components
Grade 100 Sling Components are high-strength alloy steel lifting accessories designed for heavy-duty lifting applications. Compared with Grade 80, Grade 100 offers higher working load limits (WLL) at the same size, or the same WLL with a smaller, lighter component.
What Does "Grade 100" Mean?
High-Strength Alloy: Heat-treated, quenched, and tempered steel.
Increased Capacity: Typically 25% higher WLL than Grade 80.
Safety Factor: Minimum breaking force ≈ 4 × WLL.
Standards: EN 818-4 / EN 818-6, ASTM equivalents.

⚠️ Safety & Compatibility Warning
❌ NEVER mix Grade 100 with Grade 80 components in the same sling assembly.
✅ Use only Grade 100 chain + Grade 100 fittings together.
Regularly inspect for wear (>10%), cracks, deformation, heat damage, or corrosion.
