Grade 80 Swivel Lifting Point SLP type

No.502029

The Grade 80 Swivel Lifting Point (SLP Type) is a heavy-duty, bolt-on lifting accessory engineered to provide a highly secure and maneuverable attachment point for complex rigging operations. Designed to thread directly into the load, it significantly reduces stress on both the lifting equipment and the load itself.

  • Free Rotation: Features a built-in swivel mechanism that allows the load to rotate freely during the lift, making it ideal for loads that need to be carefully maneuvered or positioned.
  • Secure Threaded Attachment: Designed to be bolted directly into a threaded hole on heavy machinery or dies, providing a reliable and temporary lifting point.
  • Extensive Size Range: Available in a wide variety of metric thread sizes, starting from M8 and scaling up to M48 to accommodate diverse industrial requirements.
  • High Working Load Limits: Built to handle substantial weight, safely supporting Working Load Limits (WLL) ranging from 0.3 tonnes up to a massive 20 tonnes.

Product Features

  • Dual Motion Capabilities: Rotates 360° under load and pivots 90°. This flexibility ensures the lifting ring always aligns with the sling direction, preventing dangerous torque on the bolt.
  • Full Capacity at 90°: Unlike standard eye bolts that lose capacity during angular loading, the SLP maintains high working load limits during side loading.
  • Grade 12.9 Strength: Equipped with a high-tensile alloy steel socket head bolt (Metric thread) to ensure maximum structural integrity under heavy stress.
  • Safety Certified: Proof tested to 2.5 times the WLL. Quenched and tempered, and 100% Magnaflux crack detected.
  • Long Thread with nut available upon request.

Grade 80 Chain Fittings

G-80 Alloy Fittings / Grade 80 Sling Components

Grade 80 Sling Components are the long-established industry standard for chain slings and heavy lifting. Fully compliant with international lifting regulations and designed for durability.

What Does “Grade 80” Mean?

  • High-strength Alloy Steel
  • Min breaking force ≈ 4 × WLL
  • Heat-treated (Quenched & Tempered)
  • Standard: EN 818-4 / EN 818-6
  • Marked “G80” or “8”

Common Grade 80 Components

Used to connect the sling to a crane or hoist hook.

  • Master Link (ML)
  • Master Link Assembly (Multi-leg)
  • Pear-shaped master links

2. Hooks

End fittings for secure load attachment.

  • Clevis Self-Locking Hook
  • Eye Self-Locking Hook

  • Lifting Rings

Typical Applications

  • Chain slings (1 to 4 legs)
  • Construction & Civil Works
  • Manufacturing & Workshops
  • Steel Fabrication
  • General Industrial Lifting

Identification Marks

  • Grade: G80 / 8
  • Manufacturer’s ID
  • Size or WLL (Working Load Limit)
  • Traceability Batch Code

Grade 80 vs. Grade 100

Feature Grade 80 Grade 100
Strength Level Standard Industry Standard +25% Higher
Component Size Larger Smaller (for same WLL)
Weight Heavier Lighter
Cost More Cost-Effective Higher

⚠️ Safety & Compatibility Notes

  • DO NOT mix Grade 80 components with other grades (G70, G100) in the same sling leg.
  • Always match Grade 80 chain with Grade 80 fittings.
  • Observe sling angle factors and WLL reductions during lifts.
  • Inspect regularly for: Wear (>10%), Cracks/Distortion, Corrosion, or Heat Damage.
