Grade 80 Alloy Chain Slings
Heavy-Duty Overhead Lifting Solutions
High-Strength Alloy High Temp (400°F/204°C) OSHA & ASME Compliant
A Grade 80 alloy chain sling is a heavy-duty lifting assembly made from specifically heat-treated Grade 80 alloy steel chain. Designed explicitly for rigorous overhead lifting applications, it is commonly relied upon in industries like construction, heavy manufacturing, and industrial material handling due to its immense strength, durability, and resistance to impact.
Engineering Features & Advantages
⛓️
Extreme Durability
Significantly stronger and more durable than wire rope or synthetic slings. Highly resistant to severe abrasion, impact, cuts, and harsh industrial environments.
🔥
Temperature Resilience
Ideal for foundries and steel mills. Grade 80 chain slings can safely withstand continuous exposure to high temperatures up to 400°F (204°C) without losing integrity.
⚙️
High Load Capacity
Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel, offering substantially higher Working Load Limits (WLL) compared to lower-grade carbon steel transport chains.
✅
Safety Compliance
Manufactured, proof-tested, and certified to meet the strictest global lifting standards, including OSHA regulations and ASME B30.9 guidelines.
Common Sling Configurations
- Single Leg (1-leg) Sling: Designed for straight vertical lifts or choke hitches on single pick points.
- Double Leg (2-leg) Sling: Provides enhanced stability and better weight distribution across two attachment points.
- Triple Leg (3-leg) Sling: Essential for lifting irregular loads where three points of contact are necessary for balance.
- Quadruple Leg (4-leg) Sling: Offers the absolute maximum stability for lifting large, bulky, and exceptionally heavy objects.
Anatomy of a Chain Sling
A typical Grade 80 assembly consists of three primary elements:
- Master Link: The top oblong ring that seamlessly connects the entire sling assembly to the crane hook.
- Chain Legs: The Grade 80 alloy chain sections that actively bear and transfer the load.
- Hooks & Fittings: The bottom attachment points. These can be customized with safety sling hooks, self-locking hooks, or grab hooks (for leg shortening and adjustment).
