The DIN 3091 Solid Thimble is a heavy-duty cast rigging fitting designed for extreme loads. Unlike standard open thimbles, it features a solid metal body with a pre-drilled pin hole, offering superior resistance to crushing and a rigid connection point for dredging, cranes, and heavy machinery.
A solid block of cast Ductile Iron (GGG 40) or Mild Steel (GTW 40). Prevents the thimble from crushing under high compression loads.
Features a machined center hole for connection via a pin or bolt. Provides a secure, rigid attachment point essential for fixed rigging.
The solid radius design supports the wire rope perfectly, preventing kinks and resulting in very low reduction of the rope's breaking load (approx. 10%).
Available for 8mm to 40mm wire ropes. Widely used in dredging, excavators, and heavy crane lines where standard thimbles would fail.
